LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR PIERCING JEWELRY
We believe in the quality of the jewelry we use, which is why all our piercing jewelry comes with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship issues.
The warranty applies to jewelry purchased at the Octopus studio or our webshop and covers defects resulting from manufacturing or workmanship issues, but not damage caused by improper use.
The lifetime warranty does not apply to conventional earrings, necklaces, bracelets, piercing pillows, or piercing and tattoo aftercare products. It also does not include the coverage of shipping expenses.
WHAT DOES THE LIFETIME WARRANTY COVER?
- Stones or charms falling out of their setting due to a manufacturing defect
- Breakage or fracture of a threadless pin
- Defective or damaged threading or another closure mechanism due to a manufacturing defect
- Breakage or fracture of the jewelry that is not the result of external mechanical damage
- Other manufacturing defects that occur during normal use of the jewelry
Damaged jewelry must be brought (or sent) to Octopus for inspection and assessment of the cause of the damage. If it is determined that the issue is a manufacturing defect, the jewelry will be replaced with a new piece.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY?
The lifetime warranty does not cover damage caused by improper handling, inadequate use, long-term wearing or external factors. Examples include:
- Lost jewelry or lost components of jewelry
- Normal wear and tear resulting from everyday use (e.g. tarnishing of bezel-set stones, fading of color on anodized jewelry, oxidation of gold jewelry)
- Changes in appearance resulting from normal contact with the skin, sweat, cosmetics, water, or other external factors, where the issue is not the result of a manufacturing defect
- Damage caused while independently inserting or removing the jewelry
- Scratches, dents, deformation, or breakage caused by using pliers or other tools independently
- Bending, crushing, or breakage caused by physical force, impact, or snagging
- Thread damage caused by improper insertion or installation of the jewelry (e.g. excessive tightening)
- Damage caused by improper cleaning, the use of harsh chemicals, or unsuitable aftercare products
- Damage caused by improper storage or transport after the jewelry has been received
- Any modifications, repairs, or other interventions to the jewelry performed by anyone other than an Octopus piercer or the manufacturer
- Damage resulting from using the jewelry for a purpose for which it was not designed
HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM
If you notice a problem with your jewelry, do not attempt to repair, bend, or further disassemble it yourself.
Contact us by email at [email protected] and send us a photo of the jewelry, a description of the issue, and a photo of your receipt.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, we will arrange an appropriate solution – repair or replacement of the jewelry or its defective component, depending on the specific circumstances.
A RECEIPT OR OTHER PROOF OF PURCHASE MUST BE PROVIDED
IN ORDER TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM.
The lifetime warranty covers the replacement of defective or damaged jewelry that falls within the warranty terms and does not entitle the customer to a refund. In the event of a valid warranty claim, we will offer the customer:
- The same jewelry model as a replacement, if available
- Another jewelry model in the same price range, if the original model is no longer available
- The option to choose a more expensive model by paying the price difference
- The option to choose a less expensive model, with a gift voucher covering the difference in price
If the customer does not wish to choose any of the above options, we may, by agreement, issue a gift voucher for the value of the originally purchased jewelry. The voucher can be used for any services we offer or transferred to another person within one year (we must be notified of the transfer in advance by email).
The lifetime warranty cannot be exchanged for a cash payment and cannot be used to request a refund for jewelry that has already been purchased.
REPLACEMENT TIMELINES FOR BRANDED JEWELRY
For warranty claims involving branded jewelry (e.g. Junipurr, Anatometal, etc.), if the same model is not currently in our stock, the replacement timeline may depend on the product’s availability from the supplier and our ordering schedule.
If the customer does not wish to select another model that is currently available, we will make every effort to obtain the same model with our next order from the relevant supplier. Since orders from certain brands, particularly suppliers outside the European Union, are subject to minimum order values and may involve customs and import costs, it is not always possible to order a single piece of jewelry outside our regular ordering cycle.
In such cases, the waiting period may be up to 6 months, depending on when our next order from that supplier is scheduled. Additionally, once we place an order with the supplier, the requested model may not be immediately available in their stock. If the item needs to be manufactured first, the production time will further extend the overall waiting period.
Therefore, the replacement timeline for branded jewelry cannot be defined in advance as a fixed number of days or weeks. It depends on a combination of factors, including product availability, production lead times, our ordering schedule, the supplier’s minimum order requirements, and international shipping and import procedures.
Whenever possible, we will inform the customer of the estimated waiting time and offer an alternative model or another option provided under the terms of our lifetime warranty.
Our lifetime warranty constitutes an additional commercial warranty on the quality of our jewelry
and does not affect your statutory rights (more info) under applicable consumer protection laws and regulations
concerning liability for non-conformity of goods.
